The appearance quality of the products has a significant effect on their marketability. Calcium chloride is used as a foliar spray due to its positive effects on the post-harvest shelf life of horticultural products. Ethephon is also used in special applications due to its ethylene release for coloring and accelerating the ripening of horticultural products in post-harvest cold storage. In this study, the effect of pre-harvest foliar spraying of these two substances on some traits of Sistan Yaghouti grapes was investigated. The experiment was conducted as a two-factor factorial (type of solution and time of foliar spray) in a completely randomized design. Calcium chloride (0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 percent) and ethephon (100, 200 and 300 mg/L) were sprayed at two times, 20 and 10 days before harvest. The traits of cluster weight loss percentage, fruit quality, acidity and taste index were investigated. The results showed that foliar spraying at 20 days before harvest had a better effect on the traits than 10 days before harvest. If the priority of fruit preservation is the taste index and lower acidity, lower concentrations of calcium chloride were the better treatments, and treatment of 0.5% calcium chloride + 200 mg/L ethephon can be recommended, but for the producer and seller of the product who is concerned with preserving cluster water and appearance quality, C4E2 (1.5% calcium chloride + 100 mg/L ethephon), C4E3 (1.5% calcium chloride + 200 mg/L ethephon) and C3 (1% calcium) treatments are recommended.
